I have a hard time keeping my exit signs going as the bulbs keep blowing - ideas? Also, can someone tell me where to recycle fluorescent lamps at the end of life? Cheers
Are they Bulbs/lamps or tubes? If they are bulbs/lamps would suggest changing to compact fluoros. Or if they're a tube are the signs in a harsh vibration area? because large vibrations can affect fluoro tubes.
Are there s2 starts and are you replacing them as well as the lamps? What fittings are they? If you'd like - give me a call 021 86 33 47 and I'll help you with the recycling too.
there is only one compliant NZBC F8 AS1 LED Exit light in NZ.
this is made by KTL Technologies and marketed as Lifelights x2-t. Any variation from F8 compliance can cause the buildings WOF to be cancelled.
see www.ktl-tech.co.nz.
If they are tubed I would suggest looking to replace with led tube lighting. please call Steve on 021 1818189 to discuss further, refer to our website www.hispec.co.nz.
We have different types of the led tubes available

Don't touch the surface of a quartz halogen lamp with bare fingers. If you do, carefully clean the quartz surface with a gentle solvent such as alcohol to avoid weak spots that often lead to early lamp failure.
