Using RightLight

The Electricity Commission hopes RightLight will help you to make better informed decisions about lighting for your home, business and region.

The information and calculators provided by RightLight should not be your only source of information when you are making lighting decisions. They should be treated as a guide only. Use RightLight as a starting point and then seek professional advice.

In particular the savings tables and savings calculators on this website provide indicative information only. The results produced by the calculators are based strictly on the stated assumptions, such bulb life and cost of electricity, and the information you supply.

Using the RightLight road lighting resource
The road lighting resource has been developed in close consultation with Local Government New Zealand, the NZ Transport Agency and various road lighting experts. The resource is intended to assist territorial authorities and other organisations to make robust decisions about efficient road lighting infrastructure. However the calculators, information sheets and tables, templates, examples, case studies and other information provided should be treated as a guide only. Territorial authorities and any other organisations using the road lighting resource should use the resource as a starting point and then seek specific professional advice.

RightLight lets you save lighting information and plans you have designed using the tools on the website.

Any personal information you submit to RightLight (for example, your email address so that you can receive updates of information featured on RightLight) or save using RightLight is stored securely by Electricity Commission or its contractors and will not be used or disclosed to any third parties, except for the purposes indicated on RightLight or as permitted by the Privacy Act 1993. Demographic aggregate data on users of RightLight is assessed for reporting purposes from time to time. In this assessment all individuals remain anonymous.

You have the right under the Privacy Act 1993 to access and request to update and/or correct your personal information held by the Electricity Commission.
