Register now to attend a one-day workshop to introduce New Zealand’s complete online resource for achieving optimal standards, designs and technical solutions for cost-effective road lighting.
Developed in conjunction with councils, NZTA, road lighting experts and members of the AS/NZS 1158 Standards committee, the resource has been designed to assist with planning and implementing upgrades of existing road lighting and public space lighting, and to ensure efficient lighting solutions are considered for new installations. The online resource will be available from December 2009.
The resource includes:
• Calculators to assist you to assess the performance of your existing street lighting networks, identify the optimal replacement technologies, best practice design and management options.
• Information sheets including resources to help identify lighting requirements for different road classifications, assess the performance of existing infrastructure and compare upgrade options as well as information on the key lamp and luminaire technologies.
• Infrastructure design standard template and guide to help specify best-practice lighting design for new infrastructure to achieve the best long-term performance and value for money through efficient design solutions.
• Case studies, templates and process diagrams are also included to help you prepare road lighting business cases, run road lighting trials and project manage lighting projects.
The workshops are designed to familiarise attendees with the online resources, tools and information. They will involve a mix of presentations with opportunities for questions along the way and ‘hands on’ time working in small groups. The workshops also provide the opportunity to meet with others working in the area of efficient road lighting and to share ideas.
