While some types of light are clearly more energy efficient than others, it's not a simple case of only using one type of lighting and expecting it to do different things. Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs)

CFLs use 80% less power than standard incandescent light bulbs and now come in a range of colours, shapes and sizes. This makes them suitable replacements for many common applications.
